Boxing legend Butterbean has claimed there was a “scam” surrounding the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
The controversial bout – featuring a three decade age difference – was scheduled to take place on June 20 but Tyson, 58, was not allowed to take part due to health precautions.
Paul, 27, instead stopped Mike Perry, 32, after scoring three knockdowns, and then confirmed his rescheduled fight with Tyson for November 15.
But K.O. icon Butterbean – whose real name is Eric Esch – insisted the fight would never go ahead intentionally.
He said: “He and Tyson will never fight. It was a scam from the start, just to make Jake’s name shine – and it did.”
“Everybody’s talking about this guy, but he’ll never fight Tyson.
“They were never planning on fighting each other, because promoters wouldn’t let them fight someone else in the middle of a fight.
“Never – this isn’t some big fight. This has been a scam from the start.”

Butterbean wants to take on Paul and has called him out for a winner-takes-all bout for £1.5 million.
He said on TikTok: “Hey Jake Paul, will you fight me for $2m (£1.5m)? Winner takes all.”
Butterbean, 57, has fought more than 100 bouts in boxing, kickboxing and MMA, while he has also competed in pro wrestling.
He lost a massive amount of weight after starring in a TV show with former wrestler Diamond Dallas Page.
Butterbean had 91 boxing bouts, while the 10-1 Paul had only 11.
The social media sensation’s only defeat came against Tyson Fury’s brother Tommy, 25, in Saudi Arabia in 2023, but he has since racked up four wins.
