The first fight was epic – and the rematch promises to be just as delicious.

Oleksandr Usyk became the first undisputed world heavyweight champion in 24 years when he handed Tyson Fury his first professional defeat in May.

And when the pair head back to Riyadh on December 21 this year, there will be some Scottish interest to speak of.

That’s because Lee McGregor has been selected to face Isaac Lowe on the star-studded Saudi undercard show,

this is one fight Joe was due to take on the WBO European featherweight belt last December – but the fight was postponed after McGregor suffered a muscle injury.

But the 27-year-old from Edinburgh can’t wait for what will be one of the biggest fights of his life so far.

As soon as the fight was announced last night, he wrote on X: “It can’t get any bigger than this.

“I worked my whole life for these nights

“See you all on December 21st.”

The defeat, by unanimous decision after 12 rounds in Edinburgh, was the first defeat of McGregor’s career.
