“I felt very sick. For many years, I felt as if she would have abandoned me immediately, but I stayed with her because I felt she needed me. I was her closest friend.”

reconciliation and children
However, they reconciled and their persistence eventually paid off.
Caroline and Nigel welcomed twins, Connor and his sister India, into their family soon after their wedding on September 28, 1996.
The couple later had another son, Harley, who became a professional boxer like his older brother and father – he turned professional in 2017.
Nigel also had four children from his first marriage: Sade, René, Dominique and Nigel.

Role in Nigel’s career
Caroline played an important role throughout Nigel’s boxing career.
She was often the person his managers and agents went to when they needed Nigel to do something – she was one of the few people who could communicate effectively with him.
She said: “He needed someone he could trust. I’m the only person who stood up for him.”
