CONOR McGREGOR has been forced to pull out of his long-awaited UFC return due to injury – but a new date for his return is already in the works.
The Irishman suffered the injury just days before his UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler in Las Vegas and was forced to withdraw from a fight for the first time in his career.
But the former two-weight champion will not be out of action for long and UFC officials are already considering new dates for his return.
There are currently two dates set for the long-awaited Return of the Mack.
SunSport has learned that August 31 and September 14 are currently the dates being considered for the fan favourite’s return.
A September return seems more likely, as the UFC already has a pay-per-view card lined up for Sin City’s brand-new Sphere.
But to ensure McGregor’s return in the summer, officials may decide to hold a second PPV event in August.
McGregor, 35, has not set foot inside the octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
