In the Dominican Republic, Ángel Cruz faced Julio de Jesus Rodríguez in a super welterweight bout.

But the biggest controversy arose in the second round, when Cruz landed a powerful right hand on his opponent.
This caused De Jesus to fall to his knees, but he immediately got up.
But the referee had seen enough and stopped the fight, giving the victory to his 29-year-old opponent.
As the officer waved his hand in front of Cruz, he angrily pushed him away.
