Chris Eubank Jr has found a new home for his boxing career.

The son of British icon Eubank Senior has struck a “landmark” deal with Sky Sports and promotional partner Boxer.

Eubank’s last five fights have taken place on Sky – the last two against Liam Smith were on pay-per-view.

He was stunned by Smith, 35, in January 2023 with a stunning knockout, but avenged the loss with an equally crushing stoppage last September.

But Eubank has not boxed since, although this year he has emerged as a shock contender to face Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez.

And after announcing his latest move, Canelo was one of four names he was considering.

Eubank, 34, said: “I’ve been in this sport for 12 years and I’ve still got the hunger for it. I’m still excited. I still love the sport of boxing.

“I’m in a really good position at the moment where there are four or five different names that are mega fights that everybody wants to see.

“Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, Conor Benn, Billy Joe Saunders – that’s just what comes to mind.

“There are still a lot more fights that can happen, even domestically, so I’m in an exciting position.”

Eubank was beaten by former world champion Saunders, 34, in 2014 and the possibility of a bitter rematch between them has been mooted ever since.

In 2022, he signed for a sensational bout against 26-year-old Benn, nearly three decades removed from his father’s famous rematch.

But the fight was cancelled just days before the event after Benn failed a drugs test – for which he is still serving a suspension from the British Boxing Board of Control.

The likes of 36-year-old Crawford and 33-year-old Canelo have emerged as the more surprising names to be linked with Eubank.

But the middleweight is on the final list of opponents Canelo is considering for his anticipated return in September.

Promoter Ben Shalom said: “I’m extremely excited to be working with Chris so that we can fully realise his huge potential and strong ambition.

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Chris on some big fight nights in the UK and there are many more to come in the UK and around the world.

“He is a true pay-per-view star. He has the hunger and ambition. We can’t wait to see him back in action and get involved in some big fights.”
