Estate agents promise that “there is nothing better than this in the world” Blackrock House,

There are a pair or two opportunities to play the 2nd, 3rd, 16th, 17th and 18th holes at the historic complex.

The property is split in two, with David and Isabel Kelly putting their half up for sale after three decades.

At almost 250 years old, the four-bedroom Blackrock House on the Firth of Clyde in Ayrshire is older than the famous links course and The Open.

The Royal Toon was founded in 1878, initially with just six holes.

It now has 45 holes and has been on the tournament list since 1923 – around 250,000 golf fans passed through the front of Blackrock House for the 152nd Open this week.

Viewed from inside the property, you’ll get an eagle-eye view of the entire 391-yard, par 4 second hole and the 458-yard 18th hole.

Annabel Blackett, of estate agents Strutt & Parker, described the listing as “one of those rare occasions where you can safely say there is nothing else like it available in the world.”

He added: “The route to the house runs through the golf course and takes you to a different world – a world that would surely be a dream for any golf fan.

“From here you can watch five holes from the comfort of your own home, and of course you have the club right on your doorstep for you to play too.

“While the scenery is spectacular all year round – and particularly with coastal waters in the distance – this status really takes on even more significance when a prestigious championship such as The Open is in town.

“Now split into two homes, our clients have owned Blackrock House for over 30 years, so this sale presents a rare opportunity for someone to acquire ownership of one of the country’s most renowned links courses.”

It’s almost like you have your own, extremely large and exclusive 19th hole!
