Akash and FreeSat audience warned that 14 channels may disappear today – how to get them back

Sky and freecat TV houses have been warned that 14 popular channels may disappear from their boxes.

But not afraid, they are not closed.

Change is part of a satellite signal upgrade. Here’s how you can withdraw them.

The UKTV has become the latest in a string of broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky, to switch its satellite signal to DVB-S2-a new, second-gene broadcast system.

It is believed that satellite on the backnd is a high capacity for television – although there is no concrete difference for audiences at home at this time.

While in principle it means that the UKTV will have more capacity for additional channels, the broadcaster has not explained what it will use the additional space.

For now, the switch only affects that U&Ai, U&A and Drama, U & Eden, U & G, U & W, U and Tomorrow’s Standard Definition (SD) versions of Akash and Frequent Receive Is broadcast for.

The UKTV is home to shows such as Taskmaster, Call the Midwife, Doctor Foster, Stacey Dole Sleeps Over and Natural Curiosity of David Etanboro.

Most viewers will not be affected by direct changes.

But people with Sky +HD, Sky Q or FreSat HD/4K may lose access to UKTV channels – including the +1 channels of UKTV – after the switch and their boxes have to be resumed.

The affected channels include:

9. U and Gold (only sky)

How to reboot the sky box

• Close your sky box directly to the main.
• Close all the devices associated with the sky box (this may include your router and TV).
• Check that all the lights on the sky box have completely disappeared.
• Leave the box and connected device for a few minutes.
• Switch back your equipment.

How to reboot Frequor Box

• Unplug the power cord of the freesat receiver behind the set-top box or from the outlet of the wall.
• Leave unplugged for 30 seconds and plug back.
• The set-top box should be properly booted in less than 90 seconds.

The satellite switch is nationwide. However, many big broadcasters have not yet been changed.
