Connor Barron reveals how Philippe Clement helped him make the biggest decision of his life easier.
The 21-year-old has faced heavy criticism from Dons fans after moving from Aberdeen to Rangers on a four-year contract.
But Barron says he is ready for the next chapter of his career.
The new Rangers star confessed: “It was a big decision for me at this point in my career but after speaking to the staff and manager here it was made easier and I knew straight away this was where I wanted to be.”
“European football, the opportunity to play on the European stage at a big club like Rangers is something that would bring me great joy and I’m looking forward to doing that this season.
“Obviously the size of the club as well, it’s a place where they demand high things and demand to win football matches and trophies and that’s something I want to be a part of.

“I am very happy.
“Since this came to me and we started talking, I knew right away this was the right place for me.
“Everything felt right and I feel like this is the best place for me at this point in my career.
“We have a good group of players, we have a big fan base and a massive club,” he said.
“I think it will be a perfect fit for me and I can’t wait to get here and show everyone what I can do.”
SunSport revealed last week that the Light Blues had increased their bid to sign Barron under freedom of contract.
Bologna, Hellas Verona, Plymouth, Stoke, Cardiff and Swansea were all in the hunt for a deal but it was Rangers who secured the Scotland Under-21 star from their arch Premiership rivals.

Aberdeen would have had to pay around £525,000 in training compensation had the player opted to move out of Scotland.
But a move to the Light Blues means the two clubs will have to agree compensation or face a tribunal to determine the fee.
Barron becomes Gers’ fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Jefte, Oscar Cortes and Clinton Nsiala.
When asked what his message was, the midfielder said: “It was quite clear.”
“He knew I wanted to come and he wanted me to come, so it was the perfect thing.
“We discussed a lot about how they wanted to play and what the demands of Rangers Football Club were and straight away I felt it was the right fit for me.
“I’ve played in Scotland, I know the league and what it’s about,” he said.
“I think I can help the boys here.
“I’m a leader on the field, I like to have control of the ball and control the game and I also like the dirty side of it.”
Following Barron’s capture, SunSport has learned that Morocco striker Hamza Igamane and Bayern Munich winger Youssef Kebadayi could be the next to move.
Igamene, 21, is believed to have agreed a four-year contract and will move from AS Far Rabat early next week.
Kabadayi is set to join the new Rangers recruitment squad.
Players such as Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe left the club at the end of last season.
Boss Clement is in the midst of a massive rebuild – with uncertainty growing over his captain.
Talk of a James Tavernier transfer to Saudi Arabia and a reunion with former manager Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq is rife.
