After being sacked from his job for turning up late, Daniel Dubois’ father began selling posters at a stall in Camden Market in the 1980s.
He said that a spiritual vision had instructed him to involve his unborn child in professional boxing.
Dad Dave, whose birth name is Stanley, struck gold after selling millions of copies of the now iconic Alien poster.
he told Many times: “I had some artists paint some pictures and I made a poster called, ‘Take me to your dealer.’
“It was like an alien landing on Earth, passing over Rizla, and it suddenly exploded.
“That poster sold millions of copies because people started buying from me in bulk. I sold 80,000 copies to someone in France.”
Dave printed 2,000 copies of the posters and sold them at 5 pence per poster for £2.
He said: “We used to do tens of thousands of dollars every Sunday at Camden Market.”
He then took seven employees with him on a trip to New York and sold on 125th Street in Harlem, making £30,000 in the first week.
Dave revealed that Warner Bros took him to court over a poster of Bugs Bunny – ‘Buzz Bunny’.
