Anthony Joshua “looked like he was under hypnosis” moments before fighting Daniel Dubois.
Dubois knocked AJ out four times in the fifth round in front of a British record 98,000 fans.
The win is all the more remarkable given that his head trainer, Don Charles, was not present before the bout.
The team of Charles and Dubois had to refute claims that they had sensationally been separated just hours before the first bell.
It all turned into a stunning upset, as Joshua was knocked out in the fifth round with a powerful right hand.
But veteran cornerman Charles could recognize the writing on the wall.

he said talkSPORT“My duty and focus is on us, but I know Anthony Joshua very well.
“But when I looked across the ring I saw a man who looked like he was under hypnosis.
“It was like he was hypnotised, like he was hypnotised. I’m experienced, I can understand things.
“I thought ‘we’ve got you’, because I didn’t recognise the man I knew. He was under hypnosis.
“They said Daniel would get stage fright, but he looked like he was in a state of shock.
“He was like ‘Oh my god, now this is real’, he could feel the energy of the opposition as well.”

A rematch is now likely after Joshua refused to retire.
His promoter Eddie Hearn claimed there was a rematch provision, but his opponent Frank Warren argued he was not obligated to a second match.

Meanwhile, Dubois is open to a rematch with either AJ or 37-year-old Oleksandr Usyk, who beat him in nine rounds last year.
