The delicious Ori is part of Team GB’s boxing squad at the Paris Olympics.
He is Anthony Joshua’s teammate and after winning gold at the European and Commonwealth Games, he now has his eyes set on winning gold at the Paris Olympics.
Who is Delicious Ori?
Delicious Orie is a British boxer.
He was born on May 31, 1997 in Moscow to a Nigerian father and Russian mother.
Ory moved to England at the age of seven to escape racial prejudice and settled in Wolverhampton.
He played basketball in his youth before entering boxing at the age of 18.
Orie secured a bronze medal at the 2022 European Championships, marking her arrival on the international stage.
He will win gold medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in England and the 2023 European Games in Poland.
In an interview with the BBC In 2022, his father revealed that Ori’s name is inspired by Delicious Kennedy, the singer of the famous American R&B and pop group ‘All for One.’
Ori holds a First Class Honours Degree in Business and Management from Aston University, Birmingham.
“I only started taking boxing seriously when I saw AJ at London 2012,” he told The Sun.
“That’s when it touched my heart.

“This is my first and greatest Olympic memory – until I make it!
“When I started out, everyone idolised Anthony Joshua.
“From then on it was in the back of my mind that I wanted to win a medal because that’s what GB Boxing is doing and proving time and again.
“So it’s only right for me to go out there and do that.”
“Listening to the coaches and going out there and performing well and having total faith and belief in them and myself.”
He plans to turn professional after the Olympics.
He added: “So that’s the plan – the Paris Olympics and then turning professional. And then becoming world heavyweight champion by 2029.”
“At 30, world champion – I’d be happy with that.”

She secured her place for Team GB after winning gold at the 2023 European Games in Poland.
They told GB Boxing“It was fantastic to win gold at a multi-sport event like the Commonwealth Games and I am looking forward to putting this experience to good use at the Olympics,” he said.
“We have all worked hard to get to this point and, while it’s great to have qualified, the job is not done yet and my goal is to continue working hard and make sure I’m in the best possible condition when it comes to competing on the biggest stage in Paris.”

Delicious Ory will compete at the Paris Olympics from Saturday 27 July to Saturday 10 August 2024.
