Muhammad Ali’s grandson Nico refused to “sell himself” and fight Jake Paul despite being offered millions.
Ali Walsh announced after defeating Sona Akale in a rematch that he had rejected the deal with Paul and Most Valuable Promotions.
The middleweight opened up about his decision and revealed the deal was worth £2.3million.
They told Sky Sports“Morally it was an easy choice. I said ‘no’ even before I heard the numbers.
“I think it was over $3 million. Of course, that’s money I’ve never made in my career.
“It would be more money than I’ve ever seen before. But is it really all about money? That’s how I was brought up.
“You have to ask yourself how much is your pride worth? How much are you willing to sell it for?

“Because that’s exactly what it is, at least to me. Anybody can do that.”
“But for me, I’m Ali, I put my name up there at such a high weight, I don’t think I should be playing in the mud with the likes of Jake Paul.”
This is not the first time Ali Walsh has been linked with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

“I’ve been trying to fight this fraud and now he’s admitted he duped me but is still calling me a circus performer,” Paul, 27, said.
The American has a career record of 9-1 and has faced criticism for his opponent selection in the past.
Paul’s only loss came against Tommy Fury, 25, and he will now face former UFC star and bare-knuckle boxer Mike Perry, 27.
But Ali Walsh, 24, said: “It’s a circus. People love the circus.”
“But this is not a sport you would want to mix up with a deadly sport like boxing. We are in a serious sport and it is not a sport to be taken lightly.
“I don’t think the way Jake Paul is playing the game should be included in a sport that is so deadly.”
