Golf fans have threatened to “boycott” the Ryder Cup after prices for the 2025 tournament were revealed.
Team Europe will hope to defend their title against the United States at Bethpage Black Golf Course in New York from September 26 to 28 next year.
Due to the high demand to see this iconic event, supporters must enter a “random selection” ballot for tickets and complete registration by October 22.
If successful, they will be given the chance to book their place on the course sometime next month.
But fans have been left fuming after finding out the price of the tickets they are applying for.
The “Random Selection” ballot includes only “Ryder Cup+” seats.
A ticket for any of the three days of action costs a staggering £574 ($750).

However, “Ryder Cup+” tickets include “access to unlimited food and non-alcohol beverages at all market concessions throughout the grounds and at no additional cost”.
But despite the added benefit of unlimited food and drinks, golf fans are still upset by the steep prices and took to social media to respond.

One fan fumed: “I’d like to go on record now and say that if Europe won the Ryder Cup in Bethpage after the crowd was turned into a polite snooze fest due to exorbitant ticket prices, it would be a massive… But it’s going to happen. The goal.”
While another joked, “I need to sign a LIV deal so I can buy Ryder Cup tickets.”
Some fans were not so light-hearted about the decision.
One even suggested that the event should be boycotted, writing: “We all need to unite and boycott this. Then we can move on to groceries and housing”.
The 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club near Rome offered fans a much more affordable price than general admission.
Tickets for practice days at the Italian event were priced between £38 and £46 ($50 and $60).
While weekend tickets were priced at £200 ($264) for Friday and Saturday and £210 ($275) for Sunday.
