Tony Bellew overlooked Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson in boxing’s Mount Rushmore.
The American National Memorial sculpture features the carved heads of former presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
There has been a trend to pick four names that best represent a sport – and Bellew listed Roy Jones Jr., Ricardo Lopez, Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.
That means there’s no room for undefeated Mayweather and KO King Tyson, but SunSport has made the choice of Bellew so special.
Roy Jones Jr.
Blessed with speed, power and sensational reactions, the American is considered one of the best talents to ever grace the ring.
He was a four-weight champion, winning belts all the way from middleweight to weighty,
But Jones has continued to fight well even in his prime, most recently in 2023, at the age of 54.

The Mexican also had an undefeated career spanning 52 bouts, but a draw with Rosendo Álvarez in 1998 deprived López of a spotless record.

He won two world titles and boxed at less than seven and a half stone.
López had 38 KOs and retired in 2001 and remains one of the most famous fighters in Mexican boxing history.
mohammed ali
He is known as ‘The Greatest’ due to his distinguished career in the ring and the work he has done outside of it.
Ali reigned as champion three times and fought George Foreman and Joe Frazier in two of the most famous fights of all time.
Regarded as one of the most beloved boxers of all time, the sporting great passed away tragically in 2016 at the age of 74.
sugar ray robinson
The American is known as one of the best ever, campaigning from lightweight to light-heavyweight.
Robinson – who died in 1989 at the age of 67 – had recorded 201 fights with 174 wins, 19 losses, two draws and one no-contest.
