Tyson Fury can beat Oleksandr Usyk “three times in one night” – provided he uses the simple game plan outlined by Billy Joe Saunders.

The Gypsy King was defeated for the first time in May, while Usyk was declared heavyweight boxing’s first four-belt undisputed champion.

He is now looking forward to his rematch on December 21 and has been given some advice by his good friend and former champion Saunders.

BJS said talkSPORT: “I don’t think there is anyone who can outbox Usyk.

“Tyson Fury, he can beat Usyk three times in one night with a simple game plan.

“He’s very easy to beat. You have to use your size. You have to use your physical strength.

“You have to use every single skill you have with this guy.”

Fury, 36, took an early lead, but Usyk, 37, came back strong in the end to secure a historic win.

But the British superstar later claimed the fight was “too easy”, causing him to lose focus – and Saunders agreed.

“The first five rounds were like a practice session for him,” he said.

“In fact, I’ve seen him play tougher sparring matches in the first five rounds than he did in that one. If he gets his way early on, he starts to change his game.

“If he falls unconscious on the field and people don’t think he’s going to get up and he does, he changes his strategy.

“You have to give him credit. I know there’s a lot of speculation about the ninth round, but he didn’t fall down and he was still fighting on his feet.

“I’m not making any excuses for him, but I know what happened and what didn’t happen at the camp.

“I know that, when it comes to combat and other little things, there were a few things missing that needed to be improved this time around.

“They’ve asked me to go to training camp with them, so I’m happy to say I’ll be going with them.”

Saunders, 35, has not boxed since a crushing loss to Canelo Alvarez, 34, in 2021 but is training for a comeback.

Meanwhile he backed Fury to avenge his only loss against Usyk.

Saunders predicted: “I believe Tyson will win the next fight. And I believe he will win by knockout, too.”
