Conor Benn is not only the son of legendary fighter Nigel Benn, but he is also an undefeated former WBA Continental Welterweight Champion.
Although currently serving a doping ban, Conor is set to make headlines in October 2024 when he faces off against another great boxer – the son of his arch-rival Chris Eubank Jr.
Who is Connor Benn?
Born on September 28, 1996 in Greenwich, London, Connor Benn – nicknamed “The Destroyer” – is the son of former two-weight world champion Nigel Benn.
Despite growing up in a privileged life, Connor chose to take up boxing on the difficult path.
Instead of relying on his family’s wealth and connections, he built his career from the ground up.
Early life and career
He was raised in a luxurious mansion in Majorca, Spain – but later moved to Australia with his family.
It was in Australia that Ben bought boxing gloves for the first time, initially just for fun.
In his amateur career in Sydney he won 20 out of 22 matches.
When Ben decided to pursue boxing professionally, he left his comfortable life in Australia and moved back to England at the age of 19.
Since debuting on April 9, 2016, he has improved his skills and steadily climbed the ranks in the welterweight division.
Fight with Chris Eubank Jr. canceled
One of the most anticipated fights of Benn’s career was scheduled against Eubank Jr. in October 2022.
The bout was set to continue the rivalry between their fathers, who famously feuded in the 1990s.
However, the fight was canceled due to doping allegations against Benn.
doping ban
In the lead up to the fight with Eubank Jr., it was revealed that Benn had tested positive for a banned substance.

This led to the fight being canceled and subsequently investigated by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBOFC).
Benn has consistently denied any intentional wrongdoing in relation to the doping allegations.
He issued a statement saying: “I am still completely shocked and in disbelief by this and will work with my team and my lawyers to understand what has happened and will comment further when possible.”

Conor Benn has an impressive professional record of 23 wins and 0 losses, 14 of which have come via knockout – meaning he has won 61% of his fights by knockout.

Fight with Chris Eubank Jr.
The rivalry between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. continues despite the canceled fight.
Benn had to face off against his British rival Chris Eubank Jr during a surprise face-off.
Eubank Jr. was in the final stages of making weight for his Saudi bout with Kamil Szeremeta on Saturday night, October 12, 2024, when Ben welcomed him to the Fighter Hotel.
Ben started the trouble by shouting: “Oi, Chris. Don’t pick up the bag, son. Don’t pick up the bag.”
After Eubank Jr. said he “liked” the energy he was showing, Ben said: “What do you like? You’re lucky you’re fighting tomorrow (or) I’ll fuck you right now.”
“You see this guy come in when I’m cutting weight,” Eubanks Jr., looking tired, said with a smile.
“Losing weight?” Ben replied fiercely. “I’ll meet you tomorrow after the fight, I’m going to go to that ring and give it to you.
“You’re lucky, you’re fighting tomorrow. Lucky you, buddy.”

Eubanks continued to smile like a Cheshire cat before saying: “I love this energy. You’re a kid. See what happens. You’re great.”
This proved to be the final straw for Benn, who pushed the former IBO super-middleweight champion to safety before he could be separated.
