74 -year -old Desmond, five years ago, bought a 25 percent stake in the League of Ireland Club Shemrock Rovers.

His investment helped develop the club’s academy.

Prior to Desmond’s participation, Australia -based businessman Ray Wilson had a 50 per percentage stake in the club, but his stake was reduced by 25 per percent.

The second strand of the club’s ownership structure looks at the club, a member of Shamark Rovers, once known as 400 clubs, which is 50 per percentage.

He played an integral role in pulling the club away from the financial verge 20 years ago, helping to pay the loan.

Supporters can pay an annual fee to become a member and in turn they get the right to vote for the members of the Shemark Rovers Board.

Behind the curtain, things have been fractured in the club during the last few years.

Conflicts have arisen between the part of the board members and both Desmond and Wilson.

Things came to one head at the end of last year when concerns were raised about the proposals to tap in the reserves earned from membership membership over the years.

Some fans worried that if it were so, the members of the members could be diluted.

In December, at the Rovers AGM, Desmond and Wilson updated the shareholders’ agreement to remove any ambiguity or concern on members of the club 50 per percentage.

Since that point, John Martin, the club’s Koa, has announced his plan to resign that Shemrock will be looking for the fourth CEO in five years.

His adjacent exit is described by Desmond as “harmful”.

Stress is still very high and now Desmond has written an explosive open letter to the club members.

In this, he noticed the fact that “high quality people” had moved away from the club and blamed the members of the board appointed by the members of the club.

In a fierce letter, the Celtic chief accused some non-executive directors of acting in their interests.

Desmond’s letter states: “It is more than five years when I have invested with your support in Shemrock Rovers FC.

“I am glad that the amount provided helped the Rovers to play a role in recent years’ on-field success and the academy plan and play a role in continuing the fruit.

“Unfortunately, three high quality people at the time have resigned as CEOs, when everyone preferred to be otherwise.

“I think it is largely due to some non-executive directors who have been appointed to represent the members club in the board of the football club, which is in the best interest of both the membership and club of both of you.”

Desmond stressed that he is committed to working with all aspects of the club’s ownership structure and warned that he would not hesitate to say anything else, which he believes that he is not being done in the best interest of Shemrock Rovers.

He continued: “My idea has always been that a strong, independent executive management team needs to match the developed ambition of the Football Club; the recent increase on the success achieved has made it more necessary.
