Tennis star Nick Kirgios broke into tears after being forced to get injured in Indian Wales.
29-year-old, when he was out of medical time, 29-year-old botic van was lagging behind D Zandschulp 7-6.
He got upset, wiping tears while receiving advice from his trainer and a physiotherapist.
Citing wrist pain, Kirgios completely retired from the match.
He later admitted: “This process has probably been one of the biggest challenges in my life. In fact, it is not very bad, but for my tennis career, it is the greatest ever.
“When I go back home or when I am not playing, there is just a quantity of work.
“I think it’s just the amount of work that I have put and I am still making a lot of inconvenience in my wrist. I think why I was a little emotional in the end because it is one of my favorite tournaments.”
Investigations about their future in the game, Kyrgyos continued: “This is an experiment at this point.
“I was told that I was never playing tennis again. (But) I think I am the same. I think I can compete.
“I’m there, but if I am not able to finish matches then it doesn’t really matter to this point.

“I am not sure right now. I am not either … I am not sure how it is going to pull tomorrow.
“I want to go there and I want to compete. If I didn’t really want to play, I did not need to rehab, I did not have to try and try to go back to court. I want to play.”
Kyrgios, who won Wimbledon as a junior in 2013 and was a finalist in 2022, now lost all three matches played this year.
He suffered a defeat to Jacob Fernley at the Australian Open, followed by Giovano Mapeti Pericard at Brisbane International.
Meanwhile, van de Zandschulp is ready to face Novak Djokovic in the next round of BNP Pariba at Indian Wales on Saturday.
