Chris Eubank Jr will reportedly be the next shock opponent to fight veteran Canelo Alvarez.
The 34-year-old British boxer has a 33-3 record and avenged his loss to Liam Smith last year with a tenth-round TKO.
Now the son of the iconic Chris Eubank Sr is set to take on the undisputed super-middleweight king.
at least according to Salvador Rodriguez of ESPNHe added that Eubank Jr is the new favourite to challenge the 33-year-old Mexican.
Canelo dominated Jamie Munguia in his last 168-pound title defense in May.
He first knocked out his compatriot and then won by unanimous decision, taking his incredible career tally to 64 wins, two losses and two draws.
Now he is looking for his next opponent after his fourth consecutive win.
And Canelo is hoping to return to the ring by the end of 2024.
Former WBA title challenger Eubank Jr is said to be at the top of the list of potential names.
He has been publicly asking for the opportunity to fight Canelo for several years now.

But he has so far been overlooked by matchmakers for the four-weight world champion.
However, as he prepares to turn 35 in September, he may finally get the birthday he has been waiting for and also see great success in his career.
Most boxing fans are eager to see Canelo take on fellow Mexican David Benavidez Jr., who has recorded 24 knockouts in his 29-0 record.
Unfortunately for him, the fight failed to excite Canelo.
About Benavidez, he recently told Fight Hub TV: “Maybe it’s one of the biggest fights, who knows.
“But you know, he doesn’t bring anything to me, he just brings £25 the night of the fight.
“I think if any promoter, not him because he is not in a position to offer me any money, I am the one who is eligible for it, but if any promoter that I work with, if they offer $150 million-$200 million, I would fight tomorrow.
“That’s the only reason I fight him, he only comes in 25 pounds heavier.”
“There’s no pressure to fight, I don’t need to fight anybody, I don’t need to prove anything to anybody because I remember when that happened with Golovkin. I don’t need to prove anything to anybody.”
