GOLF fans have hit out at Donald Trump for the exorbitant cost of playing at Turnberry Golf Course.
The Scottish course is famous for hosting four Open Championships but has been hit with new fees.
People will have to dig deep into their pockets to pay £1,000 to play the full 18 holes, which works out to be £55 per hole.
If they are willing to play after 1pm, the price drops to £545 to play around the Ailsa course.
The course is 6,474 yards long and was the site of the 1977 match between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
Two years after Trump purchased the course, it was redesigned by architect Martin Ebert in 2016 and cost £200 million.
However, golfers are upset with the price hike and have complained on social media.
One golfer complained: “£1,000 for 18 holes. That’s over £55 a hole. Madness.”
Another posted: “Glad I’ve played it twice already. Won’t be playing it a third time.”
A third wrote: “Perhaps an ‘open’ curriculum should be open to all, not just the super-rich.

“Maybe it’s a ceiling price; the price increase would be expensive, but it’s just conspicuous, and not in a good way.”
A fourth commented: “In the UK, where the weather can be pretty miserable during ‘summer’, it’s very hard to justify shelling out more than £150-200.
“And even at those prices, they should be the top courses where the pros play.”
A fifth said: “Oft. I played it shortly after it reopened in 2016 and it ‘only’ cost £250.”
Another said, “There’s no golf course on the planet that’s half the price of this.”
“But people with more money and more intelligence will pay the price, which gives course owners the justification to charge these prices.”
The second Open on the course was held in 1986, when Australian golfer Greg Norman won by five shots.
