John Daly’s charismatic style once again caught the eye on the final day of practice before The Open at Royal Troon this week.
The player, known for his eccentric personality on the golf course, was seen smoking a cigarette while walking between holes on Tuesday.
What’s more, Daly was spotted walking the links in a pullover sweater and neon green, yellow and blue tartan shorts.
The 58-year-old has nearly two years left to enter the Open as a former winner.
According to the rules, this unique golfer from California has the right to play in the tournament until the age of 60.
Daly won the 1995 edition of The Open at St Andrews, Scotland, defeating Costantino Rocca in a playoff.
The American golfer’s second major win came at the PGA Championship in 1991.
During his remarkable career, Daly has earned a reputation as one of the most entertaining stars in professional golf.
His outfits have become the stuff of legend, and last year Daly made headlines when he wore striped shorts and a Donald Trump top.
Nicknamed ‘Long John’ for his prodigious drive, Daly was known for his calm approach to the fairways and his unusual diet.

During the 2022 PGA Championship in Oklahoma, he smoked 21 cigarettes, drank 12 Diet Cokes and ate six packs of peanut M&Ms.
And fans said Daly’s great personality was the main reason they were looking forward to watching this weekend’s Open clash.
One said: “He’s the only reason I watch golf. He’s fun to watch and I love hearing his stories about staying up all night drinking and playing the next day.”
Another declared: “This is the pinnacle of men’s athletic performance.”
Daly also took to Axe to support Trump on Sunday following his failed assassination attempt.
He wrote: “President Trump is one of the toughest people I know! God bless him and his family at this time. Also, I pray for those who have been martyred!
“This is devastating – our revenge will come at the polls in November!”
He will make his 26th tour start at The Open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, joining his compatriot Stewart Cink, who won the 2009 title.
