It has been a memorable year for Scottish golf star Robert MacIntyre.

But McTrusty turned the tables after his stunning win in Canada.

“And shortly after that he played the Scottish Open and I said, ‘Listen, if you win this, I’ll get the tattoo, don’t worry.’
“It was just a joke and my way of encouraging him. I was just encouraging him and supporting him in my own silly way.
“Then he turned around and won the Scottish Open and I was like, ‘Oh no.’
“And, of course, he remembered that.”
So, what will the tattoo look like?
McTrusty said, “I’m thinking about it and I think I’ll probably get a Tunnock’s tea cake and hide his name on the wrapper or something like that.”
“We will find a solution to this, but I don’t want it to get to me. I don’t want to be indebted to one of the greatest golfers of my country.”
McTrusty also gets some credit for MacIntyre’s impressive wins on the PGA Tour.
He followed the first nine holes and kept the beer flowing, making sure Scott had his full support.
McTrusty said: “I was there when they played the Canadians on Thursday, and I hadn’t spoken to anyone from my country in a couple of weeks. So, we had a quick conversation.
“I was drunk and I followed him for the first nine holes and I was going crazy, to be honest.
“I was making so much noise that when I went home and watched the first nine highlights of that, you could hear me in the background whistling and cheering and being very loud and supporting the Scottish and all that, but it didn’t have any negative effect, did it?
“I texted him afterwards asking, ‘Do you want me to come out on the first nine holes of every tournament? Can we work out a deal here?’ So, I’m taking some credit.
“The big golf fans just want me to get involved.”
It was a tearful day for McIntyre Family When Bob lifted the Canadian Open trophy.
His father’s caddieship for the tournament was actually an accident, as father Dougie was added as a last-minute emergency.
