A golf star pulled out of the Open mid-round after missing a shot on the eighth hole.
Romain Langasque had decided to quit the sport and he later revealed the real reason behind his early exit.
Royal Troon hasn’t let anyone down this week, and favorites Rory McIlroy and Bryson DeChambeau finished their first rounds over par.
But that’s better than Langaske, who completed just seven holes in his opening round on Thursday.
He started off well and made up for his bogey on the first hole by birdieing the second hole.
But everything changed on the fourth day, where Langasque later revealed he suffered an injury.
The Frenchman attempted to continue, but an accident in the eighth round forced a frustrated Langasque to abandon the game.
His disastrous tee shot ended up in the rough after traveling just 51 yards and he then chipped the ball into even worse condition.
Langaske at first went to take his next shot, but then stepped back, took off his cap and shook his head, appearing to be fed up with the afternoon’s play.
Later, he explained the reason behind his move on social media.
