Roy Jones Jr. is one of the best boxers to ever step into the ring — and his wife Natalyn Jones has been with him every step of the way.
The couple has been married for over two decades and are raising beautiful children together.
But Roy Jones Jr. revealed he tragically lost his son DeAndre to suicide.
Who is Natalyn Jones?
Natalyn was born on June 3, 1975, in Pensacola, Florida, where Jones Jr. also grew up.
Natalie attended Florida State University and wanted to become a lawyer before she fell in love with Jones Jr.
The two met in the early 2000s, began dating and got married. The exact timeline of events is not known.
It is believed that the two married in a private ceremony, possibly in Florida, where they got married.
However, Natalie gave up her dream of becoming a lawyer so she could stay with Jones Jr. throughout his career and raise their children.
How many children do they have in total?
Natalyn and Jones Jr. have three sons, Roy III, DeShawn, and DeAndre.
However, Jones Jr. took to social media on Monday, June 24, 2024 to share the sad news that his son DeAndre had committed suicide.
What has Natalie said about Jones Jr.?
“Their dad has a huge heart,” Natalyn told Bleacher Report about her kids five years ago.
“Moving up? After winning the heavyweight title? I guess 95 percent of the people wanted something from him.
“Things have slowed down a bit now, but I would say still 70 per cent.
“Everyone thinks life is so much easier once you have your boat, but there are so many other things you have to be prepared for. It’s not all that easy to deal with.
“But I think you have to know who you’re marrying before you marry a professional sportsperson. But I didn’t know.
“I just couldn’t believe how good he was, and, you know, you fall in love.”
