Carl Froch claims Anthony Joshua needs a “big change” as he has “regressed” with the wrong team around him.

And boxing legend Froch insists big changes will have to be made if he wants a rematch with AJ Dubois as he has not developed since leaving former trainer Rob McCracken.

However, the British star is not ruling out a huge comeback and a third world heavyweight championship for Joshua.

Froch said on his YouTube channel froch on the fight: “My point is that he has gone backwards since leaving Rob McCracken.

“And if he moves on and comes back and has a rematch with Daniel Dubois I don’t think he has the right team around him.

“He needs big changes in the team, he needs to make changes and – before that – get his mind right and then go for it because he is in the final stages of his career now.”

Why Anthony Joshua’s immediate rematch against Daniel Dubois is ‘the end of his career’ after brutal KO loss

“I’m not saying he can’t come back and he can’t become a three-time world champion, but it will be a tough mountain to climb.”

Froch also criticized Joshua’s trainer Ben Davidson’s “very strange” advice after the fourth round.

Davidson said of Joshua: “Unless you’re galloping around, he’s quick to land the jab almost every time.

“Slide or bring it up. Behind that double jab, bring it up, roll the dice. Roll the dice!”

Froch is adamant that this was bad advice as it put Joshua in a very dangerous position.

ANTHONY JOSHUA has warned him not to repeat a strategy that ‘did nothing for him’ as he has been tipped for a straight rematch with Dubois.

The former world champion said: “At the end of the fourth round, he sat in his corner and the advice from Ben Davidson was very strange.

“Ben Davidson told him to roll the dice, told him to do this, he wanted AJ to look for the uppercut on his front foot, which is a dangerous punch.

“Because when you throw uppercuts at range you leave your chin open.”

Froch echoed Davidson’s criticism, insisting that his idea of ”rolling the dice” was “silly”.

The Nottingham Bruiser is adamant that you can’t follow that strategy against a “big puncher” like Dubois.

Froch added: “That’s why ‘rolling the dice’ in the fifth round was a stupid idea, because you wouldn’t roll the dice against someone who throws a lot of big punches.

“All the veterans bang, but Daniel Dubois is known as a great tank with a right hand, if he lands on them you see the impact. Anthony Joshua looked like he was tased. “

Joshua is moving towards a rematch with Dubois, who also seems keen, and the fight could take place in Saudi Arabia.
