Golf star Jeffrey Guan suffered a horrific accident during a pro-am event that left him at risk of losing his eyesight.
The shocking incident happened on Friday at Club Catalina in Batemans Bay, New South Wales, when 20-year-old Guan was hit in the eye by a golf ball.
according to Yahoo SportsThe Australian was taken to a local hospital, and was later airlifted to an eye specialist in Canberra.
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said Sydney Morning Herald“Just before 2pm we received reports that a 20-year-old man had been struck on the head by a golf ball.
“We treated the man for injuries to his head and he was taken to Moruya District Hospital.”
Guan’s coach Paul Davis said an errant tee shot by an amateur pro-am contestant caused the golf star to suffer multiple bone fractures.
Davies also confirmed there are fears his player will lose “some vision”, but insisted nothing is certain yet.
Guan’s trainer said Australian Golf Digest“Obviously there is a fear that he will have some loss of vision but we won’t know the full extent of his vision until he goes to Sydney for further tests.

Guan recently returned to Australia after making his PGA Tour debut at the Procore Championship in Napa, California.
The young golfer turned professional last year and has finished in the top 25 seven times, including last year’s Australian PGA and Australian Open.
Guan is currently ranked 989th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
