Anthony Joshua has been involved in a very public, very vitriolic public spat sent to Carl Froch – and now you can hear the brutal voice note AJ sent to his rival.

The two were once friends and training partners at Team GB’s Sheffield headquarters.

But post-retirement, Froch has become an outspoken pundit who isn’t afraid to criticise the likes of AJ and Tyson Fury.

At the height of the feud, Joshua and Froch attacked each other via WhatsApp messages.

But things seem to be put to rest as AJ has sent a question for Froch YouTube Channel – despite a digging goal.

Joshua said: “What’s up? How’s your week going? How’s your podcast going?

“A quick question – when you fought Jean Pascal for your first world title in Nottingham, Tyson Fury actually made his professional debut on that card, you fought for a vacant title, didn’t you?

“So you didn’t beat a champion. What do you think about that? Do you think you were considered a champion because you fought for a vacant title?

“So if there wasn’t a title, it would have been a normal fight. But they put the title up in the air and you’re the champion.”

“You don’t beat a champion to become a champion, if you know what I mean.

“Do you feel like that win is not irrelevant, but it’s not given as much importance as it would be if you had beaten a world champion? How do you feel about that fight with Jean Pascal?”

After Joe Calzaghe moved up to light-heavyweight, Froch defeated Pascal to win the vacant WBC super-middleweight title.

Carl Froch adds fuel to the Anthony Joshua feud fire with bold claim his fight with Daniel Dubois could be his last

And in Joshua’s response, he said: “Did I feel like a world champion? I had the green and gold belt.

“When I woke up in the morning and saw the belt under my bed, I felt like a world champion.

“I know what he means. I didn’t beat the champion to become the champion. Maybe that’s why he didn’t ask about the IBF title.”

Froch won the IBF belt against Lucian Bute in 2012, and later unified it with the WBA version against Mikkel Kessler.

He retired in 2014 after beating George Groves in a rematch in front of 80,000 at Wembley.

This is the same stadium where Joshua, 34, will challenge for the IBF title against Daniel Dubois, 26, on September 21.

I think he’s fine. I think we agree with each other. We have a good exchange of messages.

And Froch, 47, has revealed they are repairing their relationship and even talked about a reunion.

He said: “I think they all know. Anthony Joshua was the first question. He left me a voicemail.

“I think he’s fine. I think we’re on the same page. We’ve had a good exchange of messages.

“For all the fans who are upset that we played the voicenote that was, ‘Oh, you shouldn’t release private messages.’

“Believe me, me and Anthony Joshua are fine. We’re both fighters. We’ve shared the ring and we’ve shared the same trainer and environment.

“He has a lot of respect for me, I have a lot of respect for him and I wish him all the best.”

“He actually said he would be coming on the channel in the near future. He’s making empty promises to me.”
