A very famous face was spotted in the crowd at St Andrews for the unveiling of the Old Tom Morris statue.
The Grand Old Man of golf was honored with a £100,000 life-size statue – cast in bronze – unveiled next to the Old Course, which was designed by Morris.
The statue faces the east side of Old Tom, overlooking the 18th hole on the iconic course Home And shop at The Links.

Ronald Sandford, chairman of the Old Tom Morris Statue Project, said: “It is strange that this great man has been honored at so many other golf sites.
“But they are not formally recognized Home downtown, next to the Old Course, which he helped make the most famous golf course in the world.
“This (statue) represents what we wanted. There is integrity in him and he looks contemplative and content.
“He’s confronting his ex Home and the shop, and the 18th hole of the Old Course, which is called Tom Morris.
