Moses Itauma snatched the first serious scalp of his career by ruthlessly stopping a giant twice his age in the second round.
Mariusz Wach – now 44 – overtook Wladimir Klitschko in 2012 and he later did the same. Hughie FuryDillian Whyte and Frazer Clark.
But the 6ft 7in Viking Pole was demolished by the 19-year-old Kent prodigy inside six one-sided minutes.
Itauma said: “I don’t want to speak ill of anyone, but Vachs was known for taking people too far.”
“I think the first time he was stopped was around six rounds, but I stopped him in two rounds, so that’s a statement.
“He’s been there with guys like Klitschko and Dillian Whyte and they haven’t done that to him.
“It lets the heavyweight division know that I’m here, I’m only 19, but come on.
“But I want to thank Mariusz because nobody else wanted to take the fight.”
Itauma, who only turned 19 in December, feinted and struck in the first game with a skill and subtlety far beyond his age, and recognized his seasoned prey.
But he stepped up the pace in the second round, dropping Wach with a series of vicious blows and forcing the referee to intervene before an elder abuse case could turn into a brawl.

The Chatham ace took the battered visiting player into a neutral corner and unleashed a volley of bullets on his limp torso and riddled head.
And, when referee Michael Alexander halted the abuse, the Briton poked his baby-like face out from between the ropes and smiled at the crowd, which roared at his latest masterclass of measured brutality.
Former world champion and commentator Carl Froch described it as Britain’s best boxing performance of the year.
And Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren warns Fraser Clark that he is their next victim.
