Around 2.5 million fans are expected to flock to the gates of Royal Troon for The Open this week.
And the long queues outside Glasgow Central Station this morning were certainly a sign of what was to come.
The final major tournament of the year is being held in the quiet Ayrshire town, the first time it has been held there since 2016.
The biggest names in golf have descended on this historic course to stake their claim to the Claret Jug.
World number one Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and in-form home player Bob MacIntyre are among the golf superstars vying for glory.
And thousands of punters will be there, cheering on their heroes.
Huge queues were seen outside Glasgow Central Station this morning with fans coming from all over the world.
Although a temporary timetable is currently in operation, ScotRail has introduced additional services to get fans from Glasgow Central to Troon over the next few days.
But things did not go entirely smoothly on Wednesday, as punters complained they had to queue for up to 90 minutes for trains to and from the city.
And once again it is going to be a very busy day on the trains.
Pictures from the Scottish Sun just before 8am today show huge queues have already formed outside Glasgow Central with fans eager to get there early.
A source has also told us that three hundred passengers arrive every ten minutes.
Long queues of fans could be seen from Argyle Street to the Heelanman’s Umbrella.
Home favourite McIntyre is entering the championship on the back of a stunning success.
The 27-year-old from Oban won the Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick last week.
This is his second big win in a few weeks.
Just last month he won the RBC Canadian Open, his first PGA Tour victory.
McIntyre’s first round will begin with a 9.36 tee-time and that’s probably why so many punters are eager to get there early.

He is playing in a star-studded lineup alongside Spanish superstar Jon Rahm and England favourite Tommy Fleetwood.
Rory McIlroy will take the field at 10.09am, while veteran Tiger Woods will take the field at 2.37pm.
