But immediately after the fight and in the days following, Joshua announced his plans to continue fighting and to retire.

And it appears his next fight is already booked, as AJ has been photographed with promoter Eddie Hearn and Saudi Arabian boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh.

Alalshikh posted: “The champion will be back soon.”

Joshua, 34, responded: “Active conversation. Thank you to all my supporters who came to the fight, I appreciate you all.”

The two-time heavyweight champion still has a fight contracted with the Riyadh season of Alalshikh.

And Hearn revealed a rematch with the 27-year-old Dubois remains an option.

But the same could happen to 36-year-old Tyson Fury, who is set to fight again with 37-year-old Oleksandr Usyk on December 21st.

Even 38-year-old Deontay Wilder is a wildcard option for AJ, even though the American has lost twice in a row.

Hearn told IFL TV: “If Fury had lost they would probably both have said ‘okay, let’s give the public one last chance, two big fights, that’s it’.”

“Or, if Fury wins, he could defend against AJ for the unified world heavyweight title and AJ could beat him and become a three-time heavyweight champion.

“Anything is possible. Or we could fight Daniel Dubois again. Or fight someone else. Deontay Wilder.”

“I don’t know, it’s not a topic that’s been discussed yet, but two guys who are coming off losses, big boxers, somebody has to leave the game.

“But for me the options are – a rematch with Daniel Dubois or wait and see what happens between Fury and Usyk.”
