He admitted that he loves learning from the footballer

Usyk won the crown in 1999 to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

However, AJ, 34, spent the night learning from the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star.

He stressed that he does not come under the influence of celebrities in boxing competitions.

He admitted that he loves to learn from Ronaldo and never misses a chance to talk to him.

AJ believes he could spend “thousands of pounds” to get solace from someone of the Portuguese star’s calibre.

“I’ve never been a guy who gets caught up in the superstar thing.

“I just look at people’s character.

“When I learn about their character, I take that into my community.

“Instead of just being amazed by these people whom everyone admires, I try to understand their mind and mindset and how they got to where they are.

“These people can charge thousands of pounds for meetings – imagine how much it would cost to get a consultation with Cristiano Ronaldo.

“So when I’m at ringside with them, I get to talk to them.”

AJ has also talked about his potential spring fight with Tyson Fury.

He claimed: “I’m a short-term dreamer.

“I approach every week thinking, ‘What can I achieve this week?’

“So I’m not looking for the undisputed. I’m looking for this week and then next week.”

AJ will next face Daniel Dubois at Wembley on Saturday in what will be an all-British bout.
