Conor McGregor’s representatives have denied sensational claims that his UFC comeback has been cancelled because he is in rehab.
The IrishmanThe return bout with Michael Chandler — which was scheduled to headline UFC 303 on June 29 — was canceled last week.
McGregor, 35, was forced to withdraw from his first fight in nearly three years due to an undisclosed injury.
But former UFC title challenger and ESPN pundit Chael Sonnen has sensationally claimed the fight has been cancelled because McGregor has been admitted to rehab.
This claim has been rejected The Irishman“Mr. McGregor is with his family,” his publicist Karen Kessler said in a statement.
“The fight was cancelled due to an injury sustained during training.”
“He is waiting for a new date.”
Sonnen, a former three-time UFC title challenger, made the allegation during the latest episode of Good Guy, Bad Guy with former light-heavy and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
He added: “What an incredible irony it is that there are such huge interests between the two sides.” Liquor,

CONOR McGREGOR has been forced to pull out of his long-awaited UFC return due to injury – but a new date for his return is already in the works.
The Irishman suffered the injury just days before his UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler in Las Vegas and was forced to withdraw from a fight for the first time in his career.
But the former two-weight champion will not be out of action for long and UFC officials are already considering new dates for his return.
There are currently two dates set for the long-awaited Return of the Mack.
SunSport has learned that August 31 and September 14 are currently the dates being considered for the fan favourite’s return.
A September return seems more likely, as the UFC already has a pay-per-view card lined up for Sin City’s brand-new Sphere.
But to ensure McGregor’s return in the summer, officials may decide to hold a second PPV event in August.
McGregor, 35, has not set foot inside the octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

“He shouldn’t have talked about it. Well, that’s why people hear it.”
When pressed by Cormier, Sonnen said: “It had nothing to do with it.
“Two guys were selling alcohol, completely unrelated story.
“And then there’s a guy in rehab for alcohol and other drugs.
“All I want to say is that this is a tough story.
“Well, have a nice drink. I’ll see you in a little while, because I’m in a good place right now, and make sure I don’t have a drink.”
“I’m just bringing up the irony of this issue, this is all about Daniel.”
Sonnen’s claim that McGregor is in rehab for “other substances” is baseless, as the UFC superstar has Never seen carrying illegal items Drugs Neither has his test come out positive.
McGregor, a former two-division champion, has not set foot inside the Octagon since breaking his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
And the Dublin player was left heartbroken that his long-awaited comeback was cut short by injury.
“It’s so tough to be forced out of my scheduled comeback fight,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I suffered an injury before the press conference, which took longer to recover than the time I had available.”
“The decision to postpone the fight was not taken lightly but was made in consultation with my doctors, the UFC and my team.
